What is a Fresh Box and how much does it cost?
The Fresh Box is the cornerstone of our service - consider it the minimum order. All our customers receive either the Basic ($37) or Custom ($42) Fresh Box on a regularly scheduled basis — usually weekly or every other week. For every Fresh Box, we hand-pick a vibrant sampling of 10 to 15 different high-quality organic fruits and vegetables, including as much local produce as possible when seasonally available. Prices include delivery and all applicable taxes.

What's the difference between the Basic and Custom boxes?
The Basic Fresh Box ($37) is compiled by FDO each week. It contains a vibrant sampling of 10 -15 high-quality certified organic fruits and vegetables, including as much local produce as possible. It does not allow for substitutions and is considered a more economical offering - we pass the savings of lowered labour costs on to you.
Our Custom Fresh Box ($42) contents default to the Basic contents, however it allows you to make UNLIMITED substitutions — as many as your heart — and stomach — desire! If you'd like, you can replace every single item in your Custom Fresh Box choosing from our extensive supply of produce (more than 120 fresh organic produce items!)
Both the Custom and the Basic Fresh Boxes contain an equal value of fresh organic produce: $37. The additional $5 for the custom box is for the labour and costs associated with having all that extra fresh produce on hand for you.
If you choose the Custom Fresh Box as your Standing Order, you can create an unlimited list of ‘Never Send’ items that will never appear in your Fresh Box, as well as a list of produce Preferences. That way, if you forget to customize your box, our smart little system will automatically remove those items listed on your Never Send list and our dedicated customer service staff will fill your box up with the produce you prefer. You'll receive a semi-customized box.
You are welcome to switch back and forth between Basic and Custom boxes. Just log in and modify your order (see FDO Website 101 for full instructions). Remember, even if you have Never Sends on file, they will not be removed from the Basic box - our system can’t be fooled!

What are ‘Add-Ons’?
'Add-Ons' refers to over 500 certified organic grocery items that we have researched, tested and carefully selected so that you can make FDO your one-stop organic grocery store (on wheels!). 'Add-Ons' are anything that you purchase in addition to your Basic or Custom Fresh Box and can also include as much extra produce as you and your family need! Add-Ons are priced individually and there is no additional ‘fee’ for purchasing them, we just add the price of the item to your Fresh Box charge.

What's in my Fresh Box this week? What about next week?
The current Fresh Box contents are posted online on our Basic Box Contents page and updated every Friday afternoon by 4pm with the upcoming box.
If you have given us permission, on the Friday before your delivery we will send you an e-mail message, ‘Your Front Door Organics Email Reminder’. This includes a PDF attachment detailing the upcoming week’s Fresh Box contents as well as information about new products, specials and general organic news and events. Please keep in mind that you do not have to receive this email to modify your order.
Not near a computer? (Well obviously you are now, but ...) You can call us at 416.201.8579 to hear a recorded message with the Fresh Box contents and you can always call us with the changes you’d like to make. If we can’t answer the phone or it is after business hours, please leave a message with the details of your order.

What if I'm not happy with something in my Fresh Box?
Front Door Organics completely guarantees every item in your Fresh Box. If any item doesn't live up to your expectations, please give us a call or send an email to info@frontdoororganics.com. We'll replace that item with something of equal or greater value in your next Fresh
Box. If an item that you purchased in addition to your Fresh Box does not
meet your quality requirements, we will refund the exact amount that you were originally charged.
You don’t have to send us a photo - we trust you and rely on customer feedback as part of our constant efforts to provide the best organic produce in Toronto.

Do you sell any Fair Trade products?
Yes we do! Whenever possible, FDO purchases and supports Fair Trade products over and above other products, provided the Fair Trade products are certified organic. We will always source Fair Trade bananas; coffees; sugar and cocoa products; and other Fair Trade produce (when available) like grapefruit, avocados and pears. All products that are certified Fair Trade are labelled on our web site so that our customers can make informed purchasing decisions. Can I give Front Door Organics as a gift?
Of course! A Front Door Organics’ gift certificate is a great way to honour a marriage or partnership. It's also a welcome housewarming present, a godsend to new parents strapped for time and a thoughtful get-well present. Parents: it's a terrific way to make sure your kids are eating well away from home.
